Education is under unprecedented threat. 273 million children are out of school globally, a figure that has risen by nearly 10% since 2023. Conflict, climate disruption and cuts to aid budgets are pulling children out of education faster than existing systems can respond. Even where schools remain open, the learning crisis runs deep, with many children spending years in classrooms without gaining the foundational skills they need.
Noon exists to protect the promise of education for children and communities, creating an education safety net to catch those at risk of falling behind out of education for good.
The Crisis
In Pakistan alone, 26 million children are out of school, equal to the entire population of Saudi Arabia. This number has grown by 30% since 2015. No new government schools have been built since 2012. 54% of children who enroll eventually drop out. 60% of those who drop out are girls.
For children in Pakistan’s urban slums and underserved communities, quality education is not a distant aspiration: it is structurally out of reach. Without new approaches, millions of capable young people risk being left behind permanently, deepening inequality and limiting opportunity for generations to come.
Who We Are
Noon is the MENAP region’s largest EdTech operator, founded in 2013 and operating across 5 countries with over 20 million students. We are accredited by the IEEE and recognised by governments in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as a system-level partner in education delivery.
We think the tools already exist to deliver quality education to every child. By combining community-based delivery with human-centred technology, great teachers and a quality curriculum, we can build the education infrastructure needed to reach communities that conventional systems have never reliably served.
We are not a workaround. We are a partner to governments and public education systems helping them achieve what they are trying to do, in the places they currently cannot. In the coming five years, we want to reach 1 million learners who would otherwise miss out on an education entirely.
